I don't believe that HU tobacco is sold in the USA. Any recommendation on where to purchase it? This is one place I know of. Not sure if there are others? hu-tobacco.de/Hans hasn't sold tobacco directly to the US in years. He's not licensed. There are two places to get it, Pfeifendepot and Esteval's. www.pfeifendepot.de/produkt-kategorie/tabak-tobacco/pfeifentabak/hu-tobacco/www.tecon-gmbh.de/index.php?cPath=667_1563Customs is getting stricter, so if you're interested in buying, don't sit on your hands. It will be cheaper if you just make your own purchases, unless you're buying a small amount and want to split the shipping, which ain't cheap, but you'll still be paying extra costs to whoever organizes the group buy in order to reimburse him for the secondary shipping and any duties which US Customs decides to charge on any given day if they decide to charge it. It's not like it used to be, when nothing ever got stopped. I haven't yet jarred any of mine, but then again, last time I checked the contents were still quite moist after over three years. All my tins have caps. I should probably jar them. Maybe later this year when I have the time. |

A PayPal invoice from HU greased the rudder. |

Thanks for updating us. The last time I ordered, I believe I bought directly form Hans, but could be wrong. Didn't realize he couldn't sell directly to the US anymore. Thank you very much for updated links to places that can sell to the US. Last time I ordered, about 18 months ago, an email to the new proprietor which established my longstanding account credentials easily ushered through an unfettered non-stop trans-oceanic course for delivery. A PayPal invoice from HU greased the rudder. You were lucky. One of my friends who's stocking up on HU found his shipment held up in customs a couple of months ago. It was anything but smooth. All of his other shipments from Esteval's have been smooth as silk. Don't consider conditions the same as they were. BTW, I used to order directly from Hans, and it wasn't exactly cricket back then. He always sent my orders labeled "hobby supplies". The two links I gave are licensed to sell tobacco internationally from within Germany, at least for now. The cost is the same as ordering from HU, assuming that HU is willing to risk the huge fines the German government will impose if they get caught. That's why Hans contracted with these two sellers. He wasn't interested in being put out of business by the German government. It's like what happened with GQ. The new owner was still taking US orders until he found out that he could lose his shirt and then stopped. When in doubt |

What's the effective timeframe of this update? Last purchase I referred to was about 9 months ago. I don't remember exactly, but it's been at least a year if not more. If HU is still shipping to the states, they're taking a risk. HU wasn't licensed to sell to the US and Germany has beefed up its laws. Back then in 2016, we just ran the blockade. I haven't bought since 2016, but I stocked up before the August 8th FDA deadline went into effect. |

If HU is still shipping to the states, they're taking a risk. HU wasn't licensed to sell to the US and Germany has beefed up its laws. Back then in 2016, we just ran the blockade. I haven't bought since 2016, but I stocked up before the August 8th FDA deadline went into effect. That was the last time I ordered from HU as well (2016). May have to order a little more before it can't be had (imported) anymore too.......Sage advice. |
