I broke down and ordered two boxes from Tobaccopipes. Not cheap at $26 for a 50g tin (box), but I figured an opportunity to get some aged Sam Gawith when there's been little available from them for so long was worth it.

Can I vacuum seal the whole box for storage? Yes! Just be sure to check the vacuum seal now and then.

I can always repackage the nice box at any later date should I want to preserve its original presentation for gifting or somesuch.

I ordered 3 and should have it tomorrow or Saturday. One will be kept out to smoke and the other two tucked away to age. Looking forward to trying it though.

The packaging is gorgeous. Hoping the tobacco is the same. Probably going to bust one open tonight.

I hope that it exceeds your expectations for those that pulled the trigger!
For me at this point, I have a hard time justifying buying any more other than to support the local B&M....My earliest acquisitions are hitting the 8 year mark, and I bought quite a bit after that. A gentleman in our pipe club recently cracked a tin of Cope's Escudo when he noticed rust dots...yes, the seal had been compromised as a result, and he re-hydrated it, but it was less than impressive.
In a perfect world, your cellar has plenty of aged tins that you smoke at the high water mark of aging....the sad part is, none of us know when that is, and bought proportionally, within that curve.

I'll pass. If it's that special - why not keep it in flake form?

Had my first bowl a week ago and have had a few more during the week. To me its a grass, citrus, fruit mix that is sweet and smooth. Quite a nice blend and is just a good Virginia to load into a pipe. I grabbed two boxes and glad I did. Its nothing that blows me away but is quite nice to smoke. I still feel the price could have been lowered if put in a tin rather than a mini humidor. The blend was a bit moist so drying is needed. Over all its good but I guess packed like it was, I set my expectations too high.
The box is pretty nice. Not sure what to do with it though. A display piece?

The flavor profile is like if Full Va Flake and Best Brown Flake had kids. Mine was quite dry for a Gawith product, burns great right out of the box.

Spartacus brought some to the pipe club meeting, tasty leaf and very smooth, I really enjoyed it.
Thanks, Cliff!

At least you get a nice humidor for your Cohiba Mini and Davidoff Club Cigarillos.

I would imagin so as it was aged ten years. So unless they set some asside for a second release, its all gone.
Though I guess it could end up on CigarBid or a private forum sale.

Nice to see some positive reviews. I picked up 3 of these, but haven't opened one yet.
