I got out of the hospital after 5 days. COPD and CHF. Two weeks from today, I will be moving into a new mobile home in Longview, Texas. I can't take Wisconsin winters anymore.

Get on the mend. That climate will help. I have COPD too and with Washington winters I can relate to what you describe. My symptoms lessen in warm weather, so your spot on there.

Close to Tyler where my wife is from. Take it easy on the move and better days ahead.

Best wishes and good luck with the move. The area I live in has many retirees for similar reasons. I left Illinois 25 years ago and only visit in the Fall.

@mel4us - Good luck on your journey.
My wife and I made the move from Hartford, WI to Riverview, FL nearly 8 years ago now. If I had known how much I was going to enjoy living in Florida, I would have grabbed my haversack and stuck my thumb out the day after high school graduation.'

I hate moving...would rather break an arm that have to go through that. Or be tied to a tree & beat. Selling in NC & moving full-time (again) to FL in 2 weeks.

East Texas should be easier living during winter. Those summers can be kind of warm and humid. Perhaps you are ready for that? Best of luck with the move and resettlement.

Welcome to Texas! I spent most of my summers in Kilgore and it's not so bad.
