Shape and comfort of the stem....I'm partial to Canadians and the thinness of the stem and button area is most important....my RdPipe is a gem of a pipe..and while it is not a Canadian, it is a wonderful smoker. Can't wait for Ron to get back in the groove and turn out some masterpieces.

Shape & thickness of the chamber wall. This always. That's why Bulldogs and Pots are first on my list. Sandblast over smooth unless it's a full on straight grain. Interesting. Bulldogs generally have very thin spots (thin walls) at the bottom of the chamber due to the diamond shape of the shank.
