This year’s Tour de France starts in a couple weeks. Is everyone ready? The teams are posted here: www.cyclingstage.com/tour-de-france-2019/riders-tdf-2019/Should be an interesting this year missing the likes of Chris Froome, not that it bothers me. Hate to see anyone injured in a crash. What are your thoughts for this year’s race? Will Sagan get another Green out of the deal? Will Porte step up to be the rider he truly is? Will GVA be in top form? Will Cav make it to the last stage? ExChef

I want to see Sagan get the Green and for some reason I would like to see Quintana take the Yellow. I doubt Cavendish can make it. He is getting old.

There was a time when I was truly into that, when I was 140 pounds lighter and 40 years younger. I lived in Santa Cruz, CA and rode with Greg Lemond on occasion, usually way back in the pack following him. LOL!
I admire the competitors in this race and wish them all a firm grip.

I'm still waiting for Lance Armstrong's return.

I used to never miss it but, like all things where big money is allowed in, it's become a sham. The let-down from Lance is just the bitter pill that completely ended it for me. A real shame too as the heritage of that event is monumental.

I miss the 'ol days of French Police raids and bags of blood.

I miss the days of cobble stone streets and wine flasks on the front of the bike. Let's not forget the cigarette breaks at the local cafes along the way! LOL

Press is calling for a French rider or a Colombian to win the GC. Looks like a hard route with the Galibier and Tourmalet packed in 3 days in l'alpes. Ouch.

Not saying you are old or anything like that, but I was wearing diapers and rocking in the cradle when Jacques was rocking. Ol' Ed will check in on his reminiscing of the first Olympics. Just yanking your chain Michael...them dude's were bicycling studs! Especially when you factor in the equipment they had compared to now.

When they allow electric bikes and wine flasks, I am in! They have found electric motors in the peloton recently, so you're good to go.

A real shame too as the heritage of that event is monumental. Agree, sadly. Watched every race he won. Even when I was traveling, we would hit the local pub in the evening and watch those races. US Postal Team days were probably some of the most exciting TDF for my friends and I. Big let down later.

My riding style is much more like Jan's ... staying in the bigger gear rather than doing the "hamster wheel" gear that Lance was able to spin.

Meh, racing is racing. I loved Lance and those times were the BEST. But, Watching Andy Hampston with the Giro or even Big Mig during his reign was awesome.
I prefer the racing when these guys were juiced. There I said it. These days they jump off and then die in about 30 seconds, just like the rest of us. I want to see these guys in their 52x17 all the way to the top of the Mountains. haha
