There once was a time when asked what my favorite tobacco was, I could honestly give a definitive answer. 22 years ago, I smoked Captain Black, and occasionally Barclay Rex’s Barclay Rum. The latter being my favorite. When I discovered English blends, it was Penzance. Today I couldn’t name just one, or even ten. With the uncertainty in the tobacco world, I wanted to get ahead of whatever might happen and stock up for the future. What’s here today may be gone tomorrow.
So here are some of my favorites :
Straight Virginia
C&D Opening Night C&D Yorktown GLP Union Square Sutliff 515 RC-1 Sutliff Crumble Kake Red Virginia Samuel Gawith FVF
VaPers
Hearth and Home Louisiana Red Esoterica Dunbar GLP Telegraph Hill & Stratford.
/VaBur/VaOr/VaPerBur, etc
Amphora Brown GLP Embarcadero D&R Raccoon’s Delight Hearth and Home Viprati
Burley
Solani Aged Burley Flake Wessex Burley Slice Uhle’s 00, 300 and Perfection Plug D&R Two Timer C&D Pegasus
American/English/Scottish/Balkan
Hearth and Home BlackHouse SPC Plum Pudding Special Reserve Arango Balkan Supreme Robert McConnell Original Oriental GLP Gaslight Peter Stokkebye English Oriental Peretti Omega
Aromatics
HU Tobacco Bahia Orange
Note: I have other ‘favorites’, but the purpose of this list is to purchase what is regularly available.

That's a nice looking list. Surprisingly, I have smoked many of those and they would be on my list as well. Although I have only smoked a pipe for a little over a year, you fellas have turned me on to some good stuff.

Sam, Many from the list of your favorites today are on my top ten list as well. Fifty plus years ago, for the first few years I smoked Captain Black Original and the much better Granger....my grandfathers favorite. Then I finely grew into much finer and more complex tobacco’s as I got older. Today I tend to enjoy more Burley blends where as ten years ago it was Latakia blends most of the time. I’m sure in the future I’ll go back to one of my original phases of tobacco’s, so I try to keep enough of what I enjoyed in the past well stocked for my future smoking pleasure.

Now that I've been smoking a while I need to refine my list. Although, to be fair, I'm not sure I've had enough of the different blending varieties to make a decent choice. Gotta keep buying more.
That's a nice list though, Sam. I haven't tried many, but there are some on that list that I have in my cellar, which is good to see.

I have many favorites that are in the lists shown as well. Id add Black Frigate, Hearth and Hone Viprati, Boswells Northwoods, and about 15 others that I can think of off the bat.

Storm Front is another on my list. I would never have known about this great burley with cigar mixture if not for @lonecoyote. I also intend to cellar C&D Billy Budd Blonde.

I love Billy Budd Blonde as well. I have a few pounds in the cellar and have been wanting to open a jar for about a month. But I made a deal with myself that I have to smoke through 5 open jars before I pop another one.

Excellent list. I spot quite a few of my favourites among your own.
I too have been stalking up on my decided staples. I have a feeling that things are going to get pretty bad in the next year or so.
Worst case scenario- My house burns down and I lose my cellar and have to smoke Captain Black. I could live with that. Also, I am fortunate have an incredible B&M a few miles from here.
