I "heard" it's a shag cut Six Pence. I can't see that being a bad thing.

Has anyone else tried this? It’s not bad, I think it needs more age though.

Two tins in the mail, brother! Grabbed a few other Pease blends that I have been putting off while I was at it.
And Jason, I hope it isn't just shag-cut sixpense, because that is one of the other blends I ordered. haha

Hell, with everything else going on - new house planning/old house fixing - I don't have time to go tobacco hunting. Someone review this for me, please.

I'll likely be posting thoughts in the next few days. My reviews aren't the best though. They're usually full of hyperbole and sentimentality. haha

Just looking at it at SP and it has zoomed to #2 in tin sales. Already has 7 reviews, of which 6 are positive, the 7th conditional, recommending aging. Price now $11.05.

Prices for tins keep going up in spite of the coming deeming regs. I would think they would be cutting prices to move product and get as much $$$ as they can.

Has anyone else tried this? It’s not bad, I think it needs more age though. At the last pipe club meeting SCF Dan generously showed up with a few tins, and it generally was well received...I love the shag cut, and I cannot help but think that with a Vaper, it will only get better with age. I wish that tobacco reviews were my thing, but they aren't...polluted palate, but I know what I like...and this one, I like!

It's a very traditional fine cut shag, as was common decades ago for pipes. It's really a cigarette cut. As such the tobacco will easily suck right up into your mouth if you're using a modern open draw pipe.
I've been smoking it for the last couple of days and I have to say I don't much like it, and Va/Per is my thing. The Perique is of fine quality, but the Virginia and Kentucky just seem flat. I'll finish the tin and leave the rest to age. Hopefully it will turn into something worth smoking with a few years on it, like Sixpence was for me when I first tried it. Hated it fresh but with a couple of years it was like a different blend.

I like it fresh, but could definitely see aging it to be helpful. Give it 6 months, and I think you will love it!

I got a few tins early last week and smoked one already. I ordered 10 more to put away but am enjoying it fresh. I like the shag cut and it lights easily and rarely needs a relight. I pushed it pretty hard with no bite and no harshness. It smoked completely to ash and a light tap emptied the bowl out. I feel it is a little light compared to other VaPers I've had which makes it enjoyable fresh and hopefully better with some age.
