let me say right off that I hate to post a story like this and not include photos, but ,I'm just no good at that kinda thing, and I'm going to bust if I don't tell you about my latest find...
One afternoon, back about mid June, the wife and I stopped into a local antique shop...so close ,and yet it was our first time in , but not our last, I'm sure as it was so well organized and full things of interest to us both.
in no time I was eyeballing old tobacco tins like Edgeworth slices, Players Navy Cut ,and the old mid size Carter hall paint can type tins...plus old posters like Orthan Boy plug, and even some old tobacco trade cards.
at some point , I felt a tug at my sleeve and turned to find the saleslady {an old customer of mine ,from Kroger}smiling up at me...once we caught up, she led me to a small cardboard box marked $5 each...
on top, some badly used briars, then two or three poorly stemmed natural briars that I would have given a better look if I hadn't spotted a diamond shank corncob at the bottom of the box...then another...and then one more!!
the stems where of a dark amber-like plastic ,very well shaped, with a 1/4 inch metal ring connecting to the diamond shanks...the finish was much like the country gentlemen of today, but I'd bet on the sixties...any help is welcomed!
pipe one was a bent billiard, lightly smoked...two was a straight billiard ,unsmoked...three was a straight corndog, unsmoked!!!
that's it...no pics...I held off long as I could...thanks for reading, Herb.

Great find, Herb. I would tell you how to post pictures, but I am no good at it either. Maybe one of the good gentlemen on the Patch who knows how to post will help you.

Thanks for sharing your great find, I use to enjoy spending road trips through upstate NY into Pennsylvania on a weekend mini vacation just hunting down local small town antique shops back when β stuff β was not overpriced. But, you can still find a great bargain if your a good hunter....you didπππ
Download a hosting app called Imgur on one of your mobile device. You can also use any computer with the browser of your choice and go to imgur.com, login and also have access to all of your pictures you have hosted on the site. Easy application to use and itβs still β FREE β.
Follow these simple instructions:
I use an app on my iPad called Imgur....for file sharing/pictures. Save your photos on Imgur in your profile. Easy to upload photos from your photo library on your mobile device or computer. Keep your pictures hidden as opposed to public when uploading to Imgur. Tap the photo you saved within your profile on Imgur and tap copy link. Now tap the picture tab above ( itβs located bottom row, directly under the italic tab. Clear http:// out completely using your backspace key. Put the cursor in the Image URL box and paste the link. Click insert once you make sure the cursor is below the text within your thread. I find Imgur is best for file sharing. Photobucket now charges an exorbitant fee!!! You can also use your browser on your mobile device, PC or Mac.
