MI have way too many pipes but I’m always looking for another that looks unique and is still user friendly. I’m looking for a rough, blast,or cross grain smooth finish. I was looking online at neat pipes and stumbled upon a Luciano pipe and I think it’s been overlooked. I’m surprised it’s still available and if I didn’t have pipes I don’t even smoke stored away I’d grab this one. I would expect the price to be 2*5 times if in a shop or by other carvers. Take a look if you like pokers with an artistic flair. I think it looks like the wood has melted and formed itself in places. www.neatpipes.com/en/new-smoking-pipes/luciano/19-lu041

I think that "engineering" of the pipe is way more important than looks. May be that's the reason a lot of good looking pipes aren't that popular... Just FYI - I'm not putting down any pipe maker/brand. Just thinking out loud.

If that pipe is well drilled then it would be superb. It certainly looks the part.

Looks good but I'm not sure if I like the shape.

Love the shape but at 150 Euro [$242.72aud] it can stay on the shelf.

It's a handmade from a known artisan, I'll bet the drilling is pretty good.

If I were a judge, I'd smoke that while holding court and use it as my gavel.

I think $168 US is a good price for this pipe. Which is why I stay away from Neat Pipes. They always have a pipe that I can't live without. Good people to do business with too.

That is a nice pipe from a respected maker (better known in Europe). SP generally has several Luciano estates on offer if budget is an issue.

If I were a judge, I'd smoke that while holding court and use it as my gavel. Great idea. I could imagine you doing it.

I like the pipe and would consider it a piece of art the way the carver captured what looks like the wood melted to form the foot. I have heard good things about the brand. I have bought pipes from pictures and been disappointed because until I feel it and examine machine work inside. I’ve been smoking more of my medium sizes light pipes and my tastes have changed over the years. I like rough finishes or smooth cross grain.I don’t like having a smooth pipe that gets dinged up or rim turns black or tarry. A rough finish like a Sea Rock Castello has been on my radar for the past few years.
