I’m having to change most of my blends I purchase for curing. I like Virginia or any blends that improve after years of proper aging or curing. Some Virginia don’t and some do.I have cured several flake blends and some don’t improve like others do.
I cured a box of PS bullseye and it was a success.Smooth, cool and brought out a creamy slightly sweet and just a hint of spice flavor.Escudo really cures nicely. I’d rather get bulk but I do get tins or if in coins I put tobacco in mason jars.
Can readers suggest some blends they have cured/aged and added it to curing blend collection.
I was thinking of curing some Hearth and home AJ Vaper blend but whether it’ll be a blend that reacts to curing I don’t know.I can smell a touch of vinegar in it now and I’m guessing that’s the Perique in it.

I've had aged H&H Anniversary Kake and it was good. I can say the same about PS Luxury Navy Flake and Newminster Superior Navy Flake. Even after just a year the Newminster has toned down quite a bit.

You can get Newminster Superior Navy Flake 1 lb boxes from P&C that already have a year on them. I just got 5 lbs all from July 2018.

Oooh thanks for that tip, too bad I'm still waiting on a new debit card. I forgot about Telegraph Hill, that is a great one after a few birthdays. I'm pretty sure that's all the ones I've smoked aged, in about 5-7 years I'll let you know how the rest of my cellar does

PS Luxury Navy Flake starts to improve rather quickly. The jar aroma after just several months smells good enough to eat.
Welcome.

Flakes and Cakes tend to age well especially in Virginia-Perique or Virginia-Burley varieties. What am I aging? - Samuel Gawith FVF - Sutliff Virginia flake - Astleys #44 - Comoys Cask #4 - Hearth and Home Viprati ... and many others.
Dont be afraid to age Latakia blends either. They generally age very well, try Arango Balkan Supreme.

Just an FYI ... Curing takes place right after picking the leaves. Flue-curing for most Virginias and air-curing for Burley and Cigar leaf. By the time you get finished pipe tobacco, aging is all that's left on your end.
With whole leaf burley and cigar varieties you can put them through a kilning or "forced aging" process by holding them at 120F and 70 % humidity for 4-6 weeks.

It has been mentioned by Jason, but I will second Orlik Golden Sliced. It is readily available, always affordable and ages splendidly. FVF of course is a staple for long term aging.

Fresh Golden Sliced gives me fierce tongue bite. But aged 5 years or more, it’s wonderful stuff.

Two blends that am aging are Orlik's Golden Sliced and C&D's Yorktown, both all Va blends, no burley or perique.

So you Arizonians just need to set your leaf out on the patio ?

It's too dry and they will cure green, unfortunately. I have to use a box or large Tupperware and stack the leaves in a small pile, turning daily for a few days.

Mississippi River has made my aging and favorites list and so has HH Larry’s Blend. I have EMP already aging and I have some PS bullseye that’s been aged almost 10 years,it’s great. Has anyone aged MRiver or Larry’s blend? I haven’t tried MR reserve maybe someday or special occasions.

You can't go wrong if you bite the bullet and pick up some (admittedly high-priced) McClelland Virginias. They'll only go up in value.
