I rooted for The Netherlands in the World Cup. Disrespect of your opponents is Classeless, made me ashamed, we should be better than that.

I was for USA, BUT, I agree with you. Sometimes many Americans show little class. And it is low.

It is not bragging if you can do it. You don't even want to know what gets said on the line of scrimmage in pro football . Same thing happens to boxers before a fight. I imagine soccer is the same way on the field but then I don't judge based on a chosen snippet. In the closing ceremonies all the woman from the teams seemed to be getting along well enough.

I miss the days when people were humble. That is why I have great respect for the 49'ers of the Montana, Steve Young, Steve Bono era. I lived and worked in the Bay area during them years, the meat company that I worked for had a special relationship with Eddie DeBartolo and the team, we were at a lot of events supplying the meats and Clark's By the bay (Dwight Clark's restaurant.) Pure class all the way...a meeting with Bill Walsh and my son sealed the deal on the legacy of that team at at that time. They always conducted themselves with class on and off the field from where I sat. I don't buy into labels or brands, the team is a faint shadow of what they were.

That's why I play Chess,,,it requires more etiquette. What do you think of the wild openings that Michael Basman used to play? I used to have a lot of fun using some of H line openings.. Some of his games were insane, having his king in the open, nothing in the center down 2 pawns and and exchange and still wins..LOVE IT!!

I watched a lot of the women's soccer in the World Cup, but missed out on the controversy; anything pre or post game I deleted. What happened besides the idiocy with the flag?

When one thinks of the ongoing struggle for change many figures come to mind- Harriett Tubman, Ghandi, Dr King, George Carlin, Mother Teresa, and of course, those professional atheletes that like to do childish stuff on TV.

After beating the English one the girls pretended to be drinking tea with her pinky stuck out causing international outrage and calling for the entire team to be put to death by firing squad for being insensitive. The team was saved at the minute because player Megan Rapinoe is LGBT hates Trump and refuses to partake in the National Anthem. The act was also viewed as a act of war and we came close to being obliterated by nuclear missiles. In Nueva Yorke someone drew a mustache on one of the players posters and it has been deemed a hate crime of the most serious magnitude call for lifetime imprisonment of the perpetrator. The girls were also accused of running up the score on Germany causing many of the Germans to cry. The girls also did high fives and reenacted NFL end zone style made celebrations after every goal they made causing Thailand to cry. I don't even know what they did to the Netherlands but it also has caused public outrage asking the United States to be removed from NATO and world wide sanctions imposed. God I love America.

@psycholime So they have absolutely no class.. Sportsmanship is the first thing they should have learned as kids playing sports. How can anyone be taken seriously politically when they can't even be diplomatic enough to win graciously. Brats.

Q: What is the difference between a Dutch fan and a baby? A: The baby will stop whining after a while.

Q: What is the difference between a Dutch fan and a baby? A: The baby will stop whining after a while. That and a Dutch fan will pay attention to their soccer team without them needing to perform political shenanigans.

They were never taught how to lose with class. The "Participation Ribbon/trophy" was the end of sportsmanship.

I have not rooted for any sports team in any sport for many, many years. Kapernick, Rapinoe et al are working very hard to ensure that I never do again.
