I've been so busy recently, as the girlfriend and I are getting married and building a new house. Plus, we are insanely busy at work. I felt like a lurker, as I never had time for more than just reading a few posts. First, hunting down house plans to which we can agree is maddening. We think we have finally agreed on a plan, and my builder is giving me a rough estimate to see if it in is our range. Otherwise, I fear we will fall in love with the plan that will be outside our price range. Prayers and crossed fingers would be appreciated. However, on the upside, a buddy returned from a hunting safari in South Africa and was able to grab a few things for me. Also, I apologize for not earlier posting Cramps pipe for me. Although, I tend to prefer older...and very old...pipes, Cramps new pipe is one for which I always reach, when I want a nice smoke. I tend to smoke fast, but Cramps awesome work never seems to get hot. I am not sure what he did, but it stays comfortably warn through the whole bowl. He possibly uses magic of some type. I have not had a chance to ask. You can see it happily sitting on my new stack of Jock and Fox from Van Erkoms. I'm a happy camper. Smoking some Jock right now. It is an AWESOME!!

Plus, my plans have an extra tobacco storage closet hidden behind the bookshelves for my library!

Had to check TR on those, never heard of them. No surprise there, but the reviews are interesting.
Since you're building a place from the ground out, good call on a "secret" stash area.
Congrats on everything man! Seems like life is getting pretty busy for quite a few of us. It must be something in the air.

Congratulations on the African score, and the adventure ahead of you... it may be busy, but it sounds like a great time in your life.

Nice score. I'd never heard of those either. I hope you enjoy them.
The pipe, as ever, looks great, but what struck me the most is your secret tobacco cellar behind your library shelves... Oh my word, how cool is that!!??

Never heard of those tobaccos ... very cool! Enjoy the new pipe too. Jason does apply a thin coat of magic!

I was thinking of you last night. I hope you are safe from the storm. Are you building with a raised foundation?

Very cool haul from the safari! A safari or nature trip to South Africa is on my bucket list for the next few years.

Congrats on the engagement and I hope your plans work out brilliantly. I feel like that is the most literal I have ever been using the word 'plans'. When I build a house, I'm going all out on a secret room. It will be something like 'the vault' from the Addams Family movie. haha
Also, grats on a great looking pipe and that very interesting stash of tobacco. Good to hear from ya, lurker

My friends are on safari in SA right now. I didn't ask for any gifts though. He wants a Cape Buffalo and his wife wants a giraffe.

Yeah, thing is that they moved from a 2800 sqft home in Houston to their ranch 850 sqft barndiminium. They already have a kudu, zebra, warthog and several other heads, geese, bobcats, elan, etc. They could have built a bigger house for what the trip is costing. All of the friends are curious about what's going to happen. It takes months to get the trophy mounts back so who knows. I am sure your kids would love it, but their mom won't.

I was thinking of you last night. I hope you are safe from the storm. Are you building with a raised foundation? Definitely going with the raised pad in the new house. It sunny outside but windy as hell. Hopefully Barry passes quickly. I don't need water in a house I am trying to sell!

Congrats on the engagement, Patrick! I know there are those that enjoy a safari...just hate to see any animal killed for sport...yeah, I know all about thinning the herd...just something that is not my thing. I'm glad they had a safe journey.
Great Cramps pipe, of course, Jason is turning out some incredible beautiful pipes.

His PH (Professional Hunter), when he was here in the US meeting with clients, explained that most of the preserves are supported by the taxes paid by the hunters and guides. He said the government could not care less, as they have bigger issues with which to deal.
