Wow ... that's taking a pretty big cut "for the children".

Wow ... that's taking a pretty big cut "for the children". Yeah, sucks to live in Albany county, because someone has to make up the deficit orchestrated by the politicians.

Who do these people think they are? If they’re so worried about young people becoming addicted to nicotine, they should spend money to educate the kids. If I lived in Albany County I would help organize a ‘Dump Victoria Plotsky‘ campaign, as well as all other sponsors of this bill. I went to SUNY Albany from 1992-1996. I bought my cigars from Edleez in Stuyvesant Plaza. They were hard a working mom and pop brick and mortar that did a great job. This is ridiculous.

Sadly it really isn't being worried about young people's addiction...there are far more things being societally acceptable to addiction that they dare not touch for reasons of political viability...alcohol and Marijuana of course. It is about marginalizing and demonizing the easy prey, consumers of tobacco..as taxpaying consumers of tobacco we have unfortunately help fund the false narrative of the dangers of Tobacco and are reaping the whirlwind of the soil that the seeds have been sown into. Truth and virtue on the part of politicians, is a quaint notion...it is now about increasing power over the easy prey...the marginalized.

Each year more restrictions will be imposed on all smoking. I'm going to start stocking up on my Latakia blends now.

I’m in agreement gentlemen. To quote Walt, “cellar deep”.

Looking at this a second time....and Charlie nailed it..."Truth and virtue on the part of politicians, is a quaint notion...it is now about increasing power over the easy prey...the marginalized."
