Any body heard from Scrooge (James)? Missing my good friend and pipe buddy...hope he hasn't joined the group that moved on because of something said on the internet. A Pastor once said and I quote..."You make your own peace and joy"...so true...and this is the place where you can have many true friends, not just someone to bitch at.
Brother Scrooge...please make your presence known to those of us who miss you dearly.

scrooge was abstaining from smoking in preparation for surgery. I believe his absence is due to that. Hope he's doing well.

If he is abstaining from tobacco as he prepares for surgery, and through the healing... it is a good choice. Nicotene produces Vasoconstriction, which limits blood flow to the affected areas...he is a smart scrooge in that regard. www.bmj.com/content/353/bmj.i2709/rr |

Hello Walt,
And other Patchers. I'm still kicking. I'm not allowed to have any Nic at all, just had some heart work done before my spine Dr will touch me. He is having me tested for Nic randomly to keep me on track.
But any ways computer time for me is smoking time since I can't indulge I can't be on here it's to hard.
So if all goes well I'll see yah all some time. Thanks every body for a good time here.

Some docs say you need to abstain for eight weeks and others say that is a bit too much. Anyway, compliant patients are hard to find, and I bet his doc is happy with him. That is the nice thing about the pipe, in my case I had no problem abstaining when I had shoulder surgeries... I did not abstain completely, pretty much only had a bowl at monthly pipe club meetings. The doctors typically deal with cigarette smokers, so that is what informs them on how a smoker will act... most cigarette smokers would (I imagine) find it intolerable to not sneak daily smokes.
