Hello everyone,
I'm new here, and just really getting back into pipe smoking after about 20 years. I recently inherited about a dozen pipes from my great uncle, and have been looking into how to best clean them (the stems on some are pretty oxidized). They are nothing fancy, just daily smokers. This inspired me to pull out one of my old pipes and order up some tobacco.
I traditionally never paid attention to the brand or style of tobacco I smoked. Typically it was whatever various aromatics my local tobacconist had in stock. I wanted to start with a non-aromatic this time around, and went with Peter Stokkebye Luxury Twist flake. I am enjoying it thus far, but am also ready to try a few other varieties.
I’ve also picked up two small Missouri Meershaum pipes to try out. I’ve never smoked a cobb pipe, and figure they might be worth trying.
Thank you for your time.

Welcome from Maryland! BUT, I'm actually on vacation in New Hampshire right now! Does Rattlesnake have anything to do with Rattlesnake Mountain?

No direct connection. The name comes from a sign my grandfather had at his fishing cabin. A friend had painted it for him based on an old song he would sing back in WWII.

adding my welcome/greets from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. Long timer at various sites/forums over the years. Had to give up running at age 22 (two bulging disks) but fall of '59, won the jr (under 21) division of the national 6-mile x-country champs at a golf course near Darthmouth. Beautiful country in the fall. I was a frosh at Bridgeport Univ in Ct.
back to on-topic, been a long time lata-holic for past 15yrs. Unlike most women, mine enjoys the woodsy, pungent aroma...like romantic campfire.
Glad to see another newbie and IF by chance you can beat 12/29/40, means I've done lost my "seniority"

I can't beat '40, so your spot is secure. I'm looking forward to the beautiful fall up here this year, as I recently returned after two years of living out in the SF Bay area.
It looks like I'll be out near your neck of the woods this weekend, as I will be participating in a reenactment at Genesse Country Village in Mumford, NY.
