A year ago just prior to the McClelland gold rush, they were still selling 3.5oz tins for less than $16.

Yeah, but typically I imagine that stateside the regulatory fees are not the same as the UK...who knows what the differential is in sourcing the leaf over there as to here? Transporting, and duty fees into the USA as opposed to a domestic tobacconist.
There are a lot of dynamics in play that we have no knowledge of. Maybe Smokers Haven blends are overpriced, I just don't know, but they are beyond my comfort range...(coming from a guy that willingly paid $150.00 per pound on Heinrich's Curly Block)...the market will sort it all out.

The Frog blends were never hard to find when in production. If something is offered once or twice a year tops why would it be offered on sale?

Standard practice for P&C...they always show "retail" price and the great deal they offered below the price regularly. That would have been the normal price, I became blind to the crossed out price.

I had tins of Cognac and And So To Bed open at the same time this past winter and I honestly thought they were the same blend.
Incredible tobacco, but I'll pass this round. I still have a few of each from the last batch.

It wasn't on sale, that's just how SPC lists all of their tobaccos. they are showing the manufacturers suggested retail price which would be a normal brick and mortar markup to pay the overhead of running a business. Then they are selling it for less than the manufacturers suggested retail price that they are able to sell it for due to their large volume. You can imagine it isnt a sale but online shopping has put a lot of Brick and Mortars out of business.

And for reference 3 tins of JF Germain Balkan Sobranie were just listed for sale here for $30/each. Personally I smoke bulk blends because I dont have disposable income but these are the prices that the product goes for. When I was a young man a pound was $20 😂. I am sure many can remember much, much lower prices 😊

In 2015 I was buying five can rolls of Balkan Sobranie for $60. Most of my favorite blends are now bulk.
