Yikes! It wasn't all that long ago you could get a half pound of good stuff for 22 bucks.

Man that's $176.00 a pound! Preposterous.
Courteous of you to post Sam, but those prices strain common sense, imo.

‘‘Tis ridiculous, but it didn’t stop me from stocking up on Select and 20th.
Think those prices are crazy, checkout what a tin of Krumble Kake is going for.

That's not even a good price for the UK.

Seems a little pricey to me. A little ? Like the old Crazy Eddie commercial spokesman would say:! “It’s INSANE!” It’s to rich for my blood.

Wow - I’m not sure if it’s true, but I’ve read it’s actually Penzance.

I have to eat a shoe on previous statements regarding Smokers Haven and the cost for a tin.
These blends are made by Germain in the same factory and using the same process as Esoterica and Germains tobacco blends. They are also very well rated and regarded. 22.00 for a 2oz Germain / Smokers Haven blend is probably a good price.
They are taking pre-orders again for a September delivery. If you like Germain Balkan and English blends, now is the time.

I cellared Exotique and Krumble Kake years ago and while not bad, not really better than anything regularly available on the market. They jumped from $15 to $18 last year and with a $4 increase this year they can keep them. I buy tobacco to smoke not to play let's see how much money I can sell it for.

Yikes! It wasn't all that long ago you could get a half pound of good stuff for 22 bucks. Prior to the Laudasi buyout of C&D, I could get one pound bricks of my Black Frigate for $28. Times have certainly changed.

However, a 2 ounce tin of any fresh Esoterica blend is at least $6 less than a Smokers Haven blend.

Private label. Ergo the price... Same tins in 2017 were $13.50/ tin. Sounds less private label and more gouging.

I have some of "our best blend" at $17 per tin a few years ago, i thought it was overpriced...I am not too quick to say price gouging is taking effect, I know that supply and demand is an issue...and another middleman is in the picture without the volume of S&P and P&C to buy in volume....I am not into buying.
Having said all of that, thank you to Sam for letting us know.

Indeed. If it weren't for those providing heads up posts, many of us wouldn't have nearly the collection we have.👏👏👏

My Tinderbox charges $26 for a tin of Esoterica. These tins go for $35 on the secondary market. Price might be high but it is not at all out of line for something where demand exceeds supply.

Call B&Ms around the country, it's no where near as unavailable as online shops make it seem. My local B&M charges just shy of $30 for the 8 ounce bags.

Smokers Haven was always more expensive than other blends. I haven’t bought any probably sine the shop closed for the first time. Is C&D still tinning the blends for Permal? I’m sure that cost has risen especially since the buyout. I hope he can keep this heritage brand alive as is.

Do they have Tilbury? All I've seen him have are Pembroke, Dunbar, Margate, Penzance, Stonehaven, and Blackpool. Not sure if he ships though.

Smokers Haven was always more expensive than other blends. Not really. Here's a comparison from late 2017. 56g of Cognac vs. 50g of ODF. And the ODF now.

Is there a current Germain's that's close to this that I can pick up in the UK?
