heyas not sure if i'm posting in the right area but i just got a pouch of lane 1Q in the mail. My first smoke was very nice (I'd describe it as 'perfectly pleasant") but I think the tobacco might be too moist. I kept having to relight and it seemed to get very moist near the end of the bowl and wouldn't relight easily. Just wondering how to go about drying the stuff out... like should i just leave the pouch sitting open for a while? also in terms of what i'm smoking i also got some c&d autumn evening and that was probably nicer than the 1Q. wish i had bought a sampler of 1Q and a big pouch of autumn evening not the other way around Anyway any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Typically 1Q is wet. A lot of aros are. I usually pull out what I am going to smoke and let it sit out until it drys. You can pull more out then you will need. You can replace what you didn't smoke back into the jar and it will go back to being moist. You can also pop it in the microwave for a few seconds. I don't do that but some people do.
I was told that it's better to store the tobacco the way it came and dry out what you intend to smoke rather than drying out the whole pouch. Others may disagree. I dry as needed.

I know some guys will load up one of their pipes the day before and let it sit until the next day. You will need to play around with it until you get it to where you like it. Each blend is different, some blends taste better a little moist. Others, need to be bone dry.

In Houston if you leave it out without AC, it will absorb moisture from the air. In my house it would be crispy in 30 minutes. How long depends on where you live and the humidity in your home. Try it a few times and you'll get a feel for it. Doesn't really take that much drying to be just right.

I use a microwave as I can't be bothered to wait that long.
15 seconds on a piece of kitchen paper usually does the trick. You could try that and see how it goes for you.
