So, a few months ago, JimInks gives Watch City's Simply Red a 4 star review on TobaccoReviews. And, almost immediately, Watch City was out of Simply Red and was so for months. Now, he gives a 4 star review to their Rhythm & Blues. And, guess what is now out of stock at Watch City? The Man With the Golden Pipe!!

That, and they are really small batches with a lot of people waiting for them. Considering they blend and age in house, the amount that can be produced is limited. They both had a 1 pound limit on the last release and both were sold out very quickly.

So far, I have loved everything I have tried of theirs.

Same here. I havent had anything less than great from them. Simply Red is good, R&B is good, but I LOVE 558 and Old Dominion (more) and those are readily available. That wont stop me from buying my pound limit on SR whenever I can.

I'm not sure what their custom order thing is or how it works. But I think on the SR and R&B its first come, first serve.

Over on PSD, Ernie Q, the blender said requests such as that would be discarded. Apparently custom orders are for strictly custom blends. If I’m not mistaken, and I may be, Rhythm & Blues uses Simply Red as a base, so when one is out of stock the other is not far behind. I agree with Josh that Ernie creates no bad blends. I have 9 or 10 of their blends and all are special. If you like burley based blends, or even if you don’t, Deluxe Crumb Cut is worth a try; as are the rest of them. Good luck on the SR & R&B, as Josh said, they sell out quickly!

I wasn't as impressed with Simply Red as I wanted to be. Probably over hyped myself on it. I am going to revisit it in 6 mos to a year.

My expectations are generally always too high for a new tobacco and invariably let me down, but as stated above, some cellar time can change that.

In addition to blends already mentioned, I really enjoy Nor'easter and Ahab's Comfort. Never had a blend from Watch City that wasn't quality!
