We had a great turnout at today's meeting even though I had received emails for some that they would be travelling and not able to make it. I posted an itinerary asking people to bring their Peterson pipes, but since I ran late and there was already a great flow to the crowd, and everyone was engaged in conversation, I dumped the plan. We sampled the Sutliff MacBaren Crumble Kake with Perique...it got great reviews all around, and I heard a few people say that this would be a wonderful product to cellar and age...I agree! I held a tin back for the absentee folk to get to try it and fill out a survey at our pipe night. We distributed about 11 clays, so some people are set when we have our slow smoke competition next month....I will bring the rest of the pipes to that meeting so they will be ready to rumble. As you can see by the pictures...and we had a few guys just kicking back that expressed an interest in coming to our meetings. Great fun and great fellowship of the briar, the members are more than generous in bringing tobacco's to share, Gary Y even gifted some nice briars to our newest conscripts! Steve donated a pipe to give at our slow smoke competition...I already have a gift in mind for whoever is the burnout in the crowd.

Glad you guys had a great time, as usual. You didn't really think you could herd those cats into a "theme" did you??

Maybe if everyone just showed up in a Hawaiian shirt that would suffice?

Nice turn out, glad to see so many people enjoying the amazing company of the AZ Pipe Club.
Had hoped to be there, but a last minute flair of health issues kept me away, again. ::sigh:: Haven't given up on you ladies and fellows. Until the stars line up, keep it smokey!
