Just a heads up, MM released their 2nd 150th Bulldog, this one has vulcanite stem. As of 11 am today (8-16-19) still have stock. corncobpipe.com/the-franklin

Nice, but too expensive for a cob unless it's just your thing.

Looks great, but I agree with Ronv69

If I remember right, the first one was around $15.00 and now this one with a vulcanite stem is almost double...a little too much for just a vulcanite stem...JMHO.

I think the first one was $25.
Too pricey for me on this one. I can buy a pound of tobacco for just a few bucks more.

Everyone wanted a Corndog pipe and people were paying big bucks for them, but these pipes are not nearly as attractive as the original Corndog. If it was, I would probably pay the price for it.

$35... I bought the first one. Not sure why the big price increase unless it's the stem or the fact that they sold out of the first one.

I bought both the Devil Anse pipes they made and hated the Acorn shape's pointy bottom because it won't sit worth a darn.
That alone, besides the price, would keep me off this design.

Ugly and looks cheap and and poorly executed. The classic shank teemed to the shaved acorn bowl does not work at all.
*posting appreciated, danno.

Judas Priest! I remember when you could buy a Cob for a few bucks. I think it's getting a little out of hand at those prices, don't ya think?.
And to think cobs used to be used in the outhouse.

In all fairness, though, you can get some great MM cobs for a song. I have many that were only $5-15 new. My MM Patriot, otherwise known as the Smoking Phallus, is an awesome pipe. Paid $13 for that one.

I do not like to see MM cobs approaching a price parity with briar. It is counterproductive to their mission. At $35.00 I could get a Molina, Morgan, Genod, Bruyere St Claude, Dr Grabow etc.

How long did it take you to train this behavior?
LOL … the Cutty is great and I smoke it but the Acorn is gone.

The Cobbit Shire has the same problem. I enjoy smoking it but when it it time to put it down have to find some to sit it in. It is also the same problems with the Stubby. Here is a suggestion let's find a 10 or 12 year old that can find a solution to this issue.

They certainly have more free time to ponder it than myself! However, folks these days frown upon children with pipes in hand.

Yes, the nanny state would frown on the thought. They would be cheaper than I would be to come up with a workable concept. The next time I fire up the lathe I guess I could try to make some thing these bowls could sit in.

My solution was to gift them to others who already have stands … lazy, I know! Hahaha

Gravy boat, problem solved. Well the shape problem, not the price and ugly problem.

Really feel for you mugs and the perplexing problem of where to set down your pipe. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I think this qualifies as a First World Problem.

I believe you are correct. Same type of problem as "which brand of bottled water is best to buy?" And "I'm hungry but only have stuff to make sandwiches."

We do grumble a lot don't we? (We =Me Myself, And I)
Just the wife and I in our house and we have a six foot upright freezer, I am constantly checking myself when about to complain about the freezer being too full.
