I usually transfer jarred tobac to a mylar bag for smoking and the chosen amount stays fresh. Got a free Stokkebye pouch on a recent promo and tried that and the tobacco started going dry within 3 days. Is this par for the course in your experience ?

I had an open pouch of Prince Albert that stayed moist quite awhile, I never have smoked Stokkebye pouch blends, I imagine that the blend makes all the difference.

I once bought 2 pouches..Don't remember what blends..and laid them on a table for decoration. After a year I opened them. They were both dust..I don't think they last very long.

I meant auxiliary pouches, leather, vinyl, etc., but both sides of the subject are welcome.

I can only speak for the one pouch I have and have hardly used. Its lined with rubber that sort of flaps over itself just under the zipper. The longest I used it was for two weeks loaded with Orlik Golden Sliced. It kept it in good condition. The rubber though really took on the tobacco smell and the last time I used it I put in an aromatic. Only needed it for three days and its been nearly a year since. I can still smell it.

I did expect a better result. It's that 4th Generation zippered pouch from the recent buy 4 tins promo. Quality is good with a separate, soft lining.

I gave up pouches years ago and use zip lock baggies being a shut-in I don't get out much. Cigar humi bags work well as well and are nice and thick.

When I occasionally use my zippered leather pouch, I put the tobacco in a sandwich sized Ziploc, to prevent pouch ghosting...less than a week should be fine under that practice, but putting a Hydration disc soaked in distilled water, in the Ziploc bag here in Arid-zona is not a bad idea. The button humidifiers are dirt cheap and work like a charm.
