I ordered my (Yearly Happy Brown Bogie) 500 gram rope of tobacco from Top Hat tobacco as they had it in stock...
I ordered on 8/15..By 8/19 it still was not shipped even though the shipping charge was for priority mail USPS.
Sent an email, and got the "we are wrorking on it" response.
Yesterday, I got an email that my order has been shipped:
Ordered on 8/15...six days later, no confirmation that the carrier received the shipment, just that a label was created, and on the 21st, it shows that the status has not changed.

Not terribly impressive at all, Charlie. I'd never heard of top hat tobacco before. Maybe there's a reason.

I've made a few orders with them with no problems. Maybe they did like cup o Joe's did this time and listed the stuff before they got it in? Cup o Joe's had a banner (that I didnt see until I emailed them) that said they were taking orders but were not shipping until a few days later.

Probably because they had some Esoterica available. Your order for manly tobacco went by the way side. They still have Pembroke if anyone is interested.

I get having to charge sales tax, but what's with the excise tax?
That's a new one.

It's our government's way of adding just a little bit more tax on chosen goods

I placed an order yesterday, around 6pm. This morning got a shipping notification. So far so good.

I’ve ordered a few times from Top Hat Tobacco. I’ve never had a problem with them.
When I bought my Old Boy, I found them to have the best online pricing that I could find. They have been the only place where I could get one of my favorites, Heinrich's #30.

Several years ago i was told by Peter Heinrich's daughter, if i recall correctly, that PH #30 was among her father's favorites. On her recomendation I cellared a pound (direct from Germany)... it really is tops!

What I really like about #30 is that the Syrian Latakia adds just the right amount of smokiness to the shredded Special Curly base.

Interesting. What I really like about #30 is that the Syrian Latakia adds just the right amount of smokiness to the shredded Special Curly base. Now that I'm thinking back on it a bit more, it was PH #35 that held top spot among Peter Heinrich's narrow field of favorites, #30 held 2nd place. I took his daughter's suggestion and ordered up a bunch... a terrific all day smoke.
