Good article. When was it written as George Simenon died almost 30 years ago in 1989?

Subscription Yeah, no subscription no read for me....The NYT is the biggest rag that isn’t worth wiping a skunks arse with, so I wont be reading it. Thanks for the post though Sam, an article from better times in that paper’s history.

Good article. When was it written as George Simenon died almost 30 years ago in 1989? 1975. I’ll try to take a picture and post it on here. It’s still a good article and non-political.

Some libraries (mine included) allow you to read the New York Times through the library's website. You simply access by using your library card.

If you read the page, you can click through and read the article. I did and it was well worth it.

I saw the “View the free article abstract” this time around and was able to read it without logging in. Probably the most honest discussion I have seen about what the actual risks are to the pipe smoker and the comparison to cigarettes.
That guy would have no place in that organization now.
Excellent read.
