There will be a big Welcome Home party for the Little Leaguers at "The Shrine on Airline" - the New Orleans Minor League ball park at 4:00 pm today. The park is next door to the Saints facility and a number of the Saints are expected to be on hand to congratulate the team on their win.
The area this team represents is also the home of the John Curtis Christian School which has long been a controversial high school football powerhouse accused of recruiting some of the top football talent in SE Louisiana. I imagine that many of these young men will be heavily recruited by the school over the next four or five years to play high school baseball there. If they aren't already students at the school. For the record, the school has never been proven to be illegally recruiting players.

For the record, the school has never been proven to be illegally recruiting players. SEC Rules...haha Nope. John Curtis Christian School is a private, non-sectarian Christian school that goes from Pre-K through 12. Academically, it is one of the top schools in the state because its curriculum is designed to make the students ready to succeed in college and does it pretty much without interference from the state's educational system. As a private school, it can "recruit" students from across the country and it even gives out scholarships. The people who complain about the school does so because of its success on the football field - they have won 27 State Football Championships. Some claim it's the recruiting they are allowed to do. Some claim it's because the football players are in the same football system from the 6th grade until they graduate. In the public school system, the junior high schools are separate from the high schools so they players don't have the same continuity advantage.
