I like several of the Rattray blends but they are usually out of stock or the blends I want get grabbed up quickly. They have every blend except one in stock as of an hour ago. I decided to try both IRC flakes and Dr.Bradley and look forward to trying them out.

Thanks for the heads up. Let us know what you think of the IRC Flake and the Dr Bradley. I’m actually sitting on a 8oz tin of it. I use to smoke Dr Bradley as an everyday, but haven’t had it in about w years

I tried IRC 3 star blue and it does deserve the great reviews so I decided to try a few others with great reviews. Dr Bradley and IRC Virginia flakes both get top reviews and hopefully I will like them enough for every day use and cellaring. Tins eat up my new pipe funds. A new pipe or great tasting tobacco??Great tasing tobacco wins!

Both Dr Bradley and IRC Virginia are very good. Dr Bradley was great right out of tin and is probably the coolest burning blend I’ve tried to date. IRC Virginia is bacon strip in length and similar to DLF but fuller and sweeter without grassy notes. Both were very good for fresh out of tin dampness and both smoked all the way down to ash.

I spent a very pleasant hour at Iwan Ries. Got there when the store opened and was the only customer the whole time. Harry helped me, and he was great. I sampled both the 3 Star Blue and Dr Bradley (and bought both). They had a couple things on the shelf that are out of stock on the website. Got Rattray Hal O’ the Wind and a couple boxes of Gawith St James Flake. A fantastic shop.

For future reference, I have seen where others have saved by buying online while sitting in Iwan Reis lounge, no state taxes if you live out of state (most states), you deny tobacco funding for anti-tobacco campaigns, and the discount can have it shipped to your door cheaper than buying locally. I can imagine that with the bolded part, you could modify your online purchase after you just happened to drop in...substituting for what was not online.

They shipped it for me - avoiding the 23% state tax. I even bought enough for free shipping.
