Let's see the goodies that everyone picked up at the Columbus Show! It was great to see beardedmi and Lady Margaret again as well finally getting to meet kbareit in person! Big show news: the 2020 Columbus Show will be in a new location. The hotel where the show has been held for the past 9 years is about to close for 18 months of renovations and rebranding. The show is moving to the Crowne Plaza Worthington which is only a few smiles from the old location.

My Columbus Show haul was 2 pipes, 1.5 lbs of aged tobacco, and a pipe rack. 1x 8oz 2006 C&D Yorktown 1x 8oz 2007 C&D Yorktown 2x 2oz 2007 GLP Stratford 1x 2oz 2007 GLP Embarcadero 1x 50gm 2006 Germain 1820 Weird that all the tobacco is 2006 and 2007 as I bought it from three different vendors. I bought both the pipes from Blue Room Briars. As always, Scott and Jesse were wonderful to deal with. The pipes are: Erik Nielsen ungraded oval shank Apple. Erik is a Danish carver with an A down to D grading system. He did not like how the shaping turned out on the shank on this one. So, it didn’t qualify for a grade. ie It's a second. That's fine with me, the shank shaping issue can’t be seen at arm's length and it brought the price on this little beauty way down. David Huber petite bamboo shank Brandy. David is an American carver who has spent time learning in the workshops of Danish masters. This is a small pipe with a length of 4.3”.

I'm a little less restrained than my more seasoned friend. Six pipes, two RobE's Art beauties, 2 Heisenberg Pipes, a Joe Hinkle bamboo prince and an unsmoked Kaywoodie supergrain. 8 oz tin of 2008 Haunted Bookshop and I forgot the find of the day a 2003 tin of Patriot Flake. Heres a group photo minus the patriot since I forgot.

That's an impressive haul from both of you. 1820 is a Germain's blend that I don't have. I must correct that.
Do you have photos of the event or is that in another thread?

I'll get some pic's up later. It was a good show and great to meet some fellow patchers. There was a nice turn out from my fellow Pittsburgh pipe club members. I picked up a Rinaldo poker and have a RobE poker in layaway that I hope to have by the end of next week. I won a pipe in the raffle, don't know what it is but should have it soon. I had to leave a little early to get Kim in the camper, she locked herself out.

You got a corndog. Looks new too. Are they back in production again? It's the 150th version with a vulcanite stem. It was a little pricey at $30.00 but was better than getting it online and paying shipping. I have both versions now.

Athey is famous for its filter less cigarette tubes. That is the first tin of tobacco I have seen. Nice score Ken.

Ken (kbareit) you gonna stain that bad boy (cob) or leave it natural?

Staying natural. I have both 150th anny pipes up for display. I haven't smoked the other one yet.

Aw man. I would love 150 anniversary pipe. Let's hope a few places in the UK stock them. They stocked the reverse calabash, so here's hoping...

Corn cob pipe in the bottom left of the picture. I got that, but was wondering about the etymology of "corndog."
