With the Labor Day weekend coming I was wondering what plans everyone had to end the summer season.
I'm camping this weekend and smoking a lot of pipes and cigars along with smoking some ribs and a brisket for a feast on Sunday. My daughter and grandkids are coming up from Dayton to camp with us so I am planning to have a great weekend.

Just the usual. Deal with irrigation issues and people's complaints.

Nothing special, just my usual. Some form of meat spending hours on my smoker while I smoke pipes and watch movies or a TV series.
This weekend its pulled beef with a salt, pepper and coffee rub with pecan smoke.
Will be watching Ash vs Evil Dead season three.

Depending on the ultrasound tomorrow, I might be spending the weekend at the hospital with my wife and twins. Ultrasound and pre-OP tomorrow, c section or induced labor Friday, the ultrasound will determine that.
That's the plan anyway, but we've been told "the plan" for 2 weeks now.
If he changes his mind again, it'll be a weekend full of pipes and a large chunk of pork on the smoker.

No special food planned. I kind of lost interest in that. My new Weber Grill sits unused. I guess that is what happens to most of them. People just loose interest.

Watching to see what Hurricane Dorian has planned for us...presently forecast to possibly hit around the middle of Florida...and then what? Food wise...not a clue!

Nothing planned for me. My weekend will start Friday at 0700 hours when I check in to the hospital to have an Angiocath done at 0900 hours. The rest of the weekend will depend on what is found and done.
As Bill and Ted was told "Party on Dudes"

No plans here either. May go across town to my friends house, but probably not.

My boss asked for volunteers to run some military loads to Fort Huachuca Army Base in Cochise, AZ over the weekend, double time and just when I got a new tractor...so that is what I will be doing...smoking my pipe and dodging the weekend warriors.

MAY make a load of crabcakes on Sunday, seeing as they cancelled the yearly all-you-can-eat crabcake supper at the rural firehouse. The lady who always ran it died this winter, and nobody wants to take up the mantle. So, I may be doing it for just my family and friends. Maybe pipe night with McWiggins on Saturday, if he's around, and the schedule allows.

depends on how wifie does with Thurs chemo. Usually 1st couple days, on the "upside". Then the "downside" where spends even more time sleeping ('tho gotta say, even on the "downs", she enjoys getting somewhat frisky with me"
as to food, supposed to get lots of on/off rain so no use using outside grill. Most likely, we'll pack a couple of coupons & go a mile to local BobEvans. Just a small whoo hooo.
wishing all ahead of time a great 3-day weekend

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
We don't celebrate Labour day over here, but this weekend my daughter starts her big school tomorrow, my wife's headaches are so bad the three doc has red-flagged her to neuro, but doc said if it gets worse to go to A&E, so she's going to go to A&E tomorrow afternoon to get scanned that way. I just pray it isn't a brain tumour.
So hopefully this weekend will be one of good news.

kbareitIt sounds like you have a great weekend Ken. We’re not going away this weekend, but that won’t stop us from having fun. Will probably go to Coney Island, maybe see a baseball game. I’m not sure if the Mets are in town. We also have a minor league team in Staten Island. There stadium is right off the ferry. It’s family oriented and affordable (as compared to Citi Field or Yankee Stadium).

I am supposed to go to a funeral on Saturday. It seems there is a funeral here every Saturday for the past few months. So many old people dying and two suicides by younger guys.
I am a bit tired of funerals and may not attend. This one will be enormously attended and the church packed wall to wall. No AC and extreme heat. Not a good idea for me.

My father-in-law is in from Hawaii. I think Shweetie is going with him, my 2 daughters and the grandbabies to a local apple festival. I'll pass on that. I think Will and I will probably go work some horses we're tuning up for a local outfit. Horseback in the woods or walking through a throng of people in the heat looking at...apples? Nope. No contest.

Glad you are thinking that way...you don't need the stress and heat combined, particularly since you have a few issues yourself that you don't need to take the chance and have a problem.

A new truck tractor, or a new farm toy? A new to me Mack truck... The company that I work for all the new trucks go to linehaul, later to be retired to city fleets... this one only has 250K on it which is barely broken in.. climate control, really nice seats, and A/C that would freeze the testicles off the Abominable Snowman... (A big plus in the Sonoran desert)... it has an auto transmission that I wish was standard though. And it is a pipe smoking approved form of transportation.
