What ever you do, have a wonderful weekend and for those with health issues, prayers for a successful outcome...if you have to drive, be careful, lotta crazies out there and you don't need to be part of it. I am supposed to go to a funeral on Saturday. It seems there is a funeral here every Saturday for the past few months. So many old people dying and two suicides by younger guys.
I am a bit tired of funerals and may not attend. This one will be enormously attended and the church packed wall to wall. No AC and extreme heat. Not a good idea for me.
I agree, the soul has gone on ahead, smoke the pipe and meditate on the times you had with the person.

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. We don't celebrate Labour day over here, but this weekend my daughter starts her big school tomorrow, my wife's headaches are so bad the three doc has red-flagged her to neuro, but doc said if it gets worse to go to A&E, so she's going to go to A&E tomorrow afternoon to get scanned that way. I just pray it isn't a brain tumour. So hopefully this weekend will be one of good news. Prayers sent your way sir, take heart, one good thing about todays world is advances made in the medical field ...keep us posted.

A new truck tractor, or a new farm toy? A new to me Mack truck... The company that I work for all the new trucks go to linehaul, later to be retired to city fleets... this one only has 250K on it which is barely broken in.. climate control, really nice seats, and A/C that would freeze the testicles off the Abominable Snowman... (A big plus in the Sonoran desert)... it has an auto transmission that I wish was standard though. And it is a pipe smoking approved form of transportation. 👍👍👍👍👌🤠

Well, I am going to prison tomorrow.
A friend did something he should not have done. He is serving time. My wife and I will visit him.

Sorry to hear that regardless of the situation, it shows that you are a true friend, and they are hard to come by. Hopefully, he can pay his debt to society and live a productive life.

Here in a little bit I'll be heading home to shower, packing a bag, then making the voyage to the Tallahassee NICU.

9lbs of crabcake batter. Jason, If Dorian wasn't making a run on the Eastern US, I would catch a flight out, and bring you some peppers to go with that. Maybe enjoy a beverage and watch you at work. 😉

day two of the "downside" following last Fri chemo for Nan, still sleeping after brunch. Depending on that Monday & up to it, grab newspaper coupon & do a rare meal at local Bob Evans. Otherwise, yard work planned while she's sleeping

Somehow I missed your post, I suffered for years from migraines and finally went to see a headache specialist, they did a CAT scan on my brain found out it was just an empty void...nothing to damage there! The doctor figured that it was allergy triggered migraines, which puts just enough restriction in a flare up to cause the vein behind the eye to make life really miserable....he prescribed Inderal (Propanalol) and my headaches vanished...I would have never dreamed it was allergies causing it, I sneezed a bit but that was it. I then moved from a heavily agricultural area to the southwest, still plenty of agriculture, but very different crops... and since weaned myself off the medicine... I hope your wife can get a speedy resolution, been there done that, it is a really bad place to be....very painful, emotionally and physically draining.

My wife and I had decided to not replace the drop in ceiling tiles in our basement remodel, just replace the damaged or stained tiles. This afternoon I started doing that and we realized our plan was flawed.; the new tiles really stuck out. I made a quick 100 mile round trip to our “local” Home Depot for six more boxes of tiles and now my project for tomorrow is to finish replacing all the tiles. Not exactly how I planned my Labor Day but that’s the way it goes, eh?

Just got home a little while ago. Had a great weekend and a couple surprises. All four of my kids came out for a day with the grandkids and my brother came up from Tennessee and spent a night. My sister and sister in law and her boyfriend were there also. Needless to say I wasn't expecting that many people in one day and had to scramble to get enough food to feed everyone. It was a lot of work and we had to eat in shifts but everyone got plenty to eat and had a great time. We decided to all get together every Labor Day weekend for as long as we can to get together and camp for the whole weekend. It really made me feel good to have everyone together, the last time we were altogether was my fathers funeral.

Well, I am going to prison tomorrow. A friend did something he should not have done. He is serving time. My wife and I will visit him. I hope that your state prisons treat visitors better than the Texas prison system does. I have visited three IL prisons now. The process is the same. Register to meet inmate, sign in and provide ID, put wallet / keys etc in a locker, get frisked, be taken to the room for visitors, wait for inmate to be escorted to you, etc. This trip was less pleasant than others. The seating situation is designed to keep track of the inmates, not for comfort. My back pain was increasing while we were there. I asked the guard to escort us back to the front area around 4:00 and they finally escorted us out after 5:00. The back pain subsided in a day or two. But, their purpose is to keep track of people that the courts have sent to prison. Visitors have to adjust to whatever requirements they say at any time, without any explanation.

That's why there's extra crowns for visiting people in prison. Matt. 25:36
