After a long time off, I have recently returned to the pipe world. I. thought it would be nice to share some of the pipes I have had along the way. My first pipe was purchased from the Tinder Box in Gwinnett Place Mall circa 1991. It is a no name pipe made in Israel:

Pic working now. Israeli briar was very good. I have a small 7 pipe collection of them. They are often very good estate buys.

Yes, It is my first bike, a '69 Commando. I've converted it to interstate trim for better distance.

This is with the solo seat. The Interstate seat is more comfortable for longer trips.

Yeah, Alpha was the one I was thinking of....and that Norton...I only remember the ones from the late 50's....looked a little beefier.

The next one is of unknown origin what I always considered a Tyrolean style. Simply marked "Brueyre Garande"as best I can decipher. I used it primarily as an outdoor hiking/camping pipe. It has a stag carved on the front, and the rabbit fur tassels have disintegrated over the years. IMG_20190821_134141-2 by rightshiftrickIIRC, the third was purchased about 1992 at a shop called the Paisley Peacock in Lexington, KY. It was my first meerschaum, and I was told to only touch the stem. As a result, it rarely got smoked. IMG_20190821_134301-2 by rightshiftrick, on Flickr

Now that I have learned that meerschaum pipes aren't as delicate as I was told, it will get more use.

A few years ago my great uncle passed away, and knowing that I had smoked pipes, my cousin gave me some of his pipes. I don't know the exact blend he smoked, but I always remember a sweet vanilla smell. They aren't fancy, but I like them. I still need to do some cleaning, but hope to add a few to my pipe rotation.

A Peterson canadian, a GBD seconds in the 9438 shape, etc
Your great uncle picked some winners.

Thanks,
The believe the canadian is also a second. It is marked "Shamrock" on the top, with a circular "Made in Ireland" stamp on the bottom, and and "263" on the side.
The GBD second is marked "Country Club" over "London Made" on one side and "Made in England" over "9438" on the other.
I am really looking forward to getting these cleaned up and ready to smoke.

+1 on a nice stable...great pipe diversity....Briar, metal, meerschaum......it looks like you have things nailed down. Helluva beard, too.
This has been circulating on the southwest news feed for the last few days, rattlesnakedaddy.
