For those who are interested: Sometimes I have found good deals through webpages like the one below. Liveauctioneers is currently offering (They promote different auctioning houses throughout the United States ,so check for shipping charges.) a number of Meerschaums, Briars, pipe stands, paintings and other pipe related items. For those who wish to give their man cave/ pipe fortresses a bit of character, there are a number of unique items there as well. www.liveauctioneers.com/search/?keyword=pipes&sort=-relevance&status=onlineThere is a buyer's premium. PS. Fellow PAD sufferers......you have my sympathy and support!!!

I have bought pipes from Liveauctioneers, and have been pleased with my purchases... however one needs to keep in mind:
25% bidders fees are not unusual.
Most auction houses do not ship, they give you a list of local shippers, that when given the date of the auction and the lot number will give you a price for shipping, so that you can factor that in on how much you are willing to pay.
Stay away from Live auctioneer app...at least for me it was way too easy to post a bid without meaning to..better to log onto the website.
It is real easy to see a price escalation above your comfort zone, bu it is great for seeing auctions in your neck of the woods where shipping and crating fees make it cost prohibitive for others.
