Autumn is my favorite season and September and October are, by far, my favorite months of the year. Great pipe smoking weather, too.

I am glad the Summer heat has passed. On to the cool mornings, like this one in the high 40s and raining. Much work to do around the old place before the snow and hard freeze sets in. We usually get our first snow around Halloween.

Yes, the only thing wrong with Fall, is you know what's coming.

That's what I used to think too. But down in south Georgia I think season are forgot about. We just have a lot of hot, very little "moderate," and just a few weeks of cold. I do like the fall though. It's my favorite season. This time of year, I miss it up north I don't think we're going to have a fall in Virginia. Forecast is for 80s thru the end of the month. Usually starting to get a bit crisp by now.

September is the hottest month of the year in Central Florida. The NOAA forecast for the next three days just says "HOT" lol I'm not kidding. Mid-nineties and no wind (except the occasional 100 MPH gust from a hurricane). BUT: - College football season has started - Snook season is open again - Deer season starts in two weeks - And usually it will cool off in October so the end of the long hot summer is at least in sight So I have to give September a positive rating as my final assessment. Where do you go snook fishing? Permanent ban on almost everything here in swf because of last year's red tide. I catch & release but thinking about making a drive and be able to bring something home.

The temp outside is 69, but it's the coldest day in September for me...43 years ago today my Father died in my arms ,of a massive heart attack. He was 56, and I was 22...a very close friend remarked that we had only just reached the time when we were as much best friends as we were Father and son. I felt we'd been best friends forever, but that statement has stuck with me all these years.

I guess it's good to have an excess of unmarried medical professionals during the colder months. haha. Oops. I should always proof read my posts. Should have read, 'figures'. Unmarried medical professionals. I wonder what their specialties are?

Thank you ,my friend...my Ma passed in 2014 at 83 ,but the pain and the void is still the same...no easy way to lose a loved one... you just take a deep breath ,tuck them into your heart ,and move along.
on the plus side, both my parents loved September; the last of the summers garden meant tomatoes and peppers ,for chili...sweet potatoes, blackeyed peas, and the last of the corn for soups. Later, gardening and such would give way to hunting season...dig out the boots and hunting coats, then clean and oil the shotguns.
Oh my goodness, September is a wonderful month, full of joy and sadness!

I live in the northeast, but for work I spend the entire month of August in South Carolina. Heat of course, but I really loved it there.

I always look forward to September..To me it represents the beginning of cooler weather..It can get pretty hot here in Carolina during summer...Not my cup of tea. Ugh! Cooler weather, I wish! September is just another summer month here in Florida. Same here in Texas !

Sebastian Inlet. Or at least I used to, conditions have been very difficult in September. High surf and high winds.

Months pass by like Weeks now. I have to chuckle when in younger days 24 hours seemed like a lifetime!

You are absolutely correct. The older I get, the faster the time goes. I remember summer vacation in middle school lasting a life time. Now I feel like I pay my monthly bills every single week.
It took until November, but we finally got some fall weather. Back in the 80s the rest of the week though

I got the trike on the road just a bit too late for the best riding weather. Still going to get in some good day riding over the winter, but any long trips will have to wait until spring.
