Being what I would still call a rookie in the pipe smoking/collecting arena, I have set certain parameters around my diseases and I thought it would be good to chat about those parameters.
1. PAD: I honestly believe I have more than enough pipes to keep me happy for a long time, plus I really enjoy restoring pipes so I will always be able to find deals on Ebay and Craigslist to fuel my habit should I want another pipe or twelve. So my parameter is this: I try to sell everything at a fair price based on the data I find and what doesn't sell is what goes into my collection.
2. TAD: If it's a tin I keep it, if it's sealed volume (like the 24 oz Stokkebye boxes) I sell some and keep enough for myself.
I have made acquaintance with two people who have recently lost a parent/grandparent who had huge collections of pipes and tobacco and they periodically offer to sell me some of the collection as they discover it. I have recently bought these pipes and while they are all fascinating to me, I simply don't need anymore new pipes; I would rather restore an estate pipe.
So here is my question: Since most of what I am acquiring isn't the type of stuff that interests the brothers here and I hate Ebay with a passion, should I try to sell what I currently have, keep what doesn't sell, and stop buying new stuff? Or should I buy everything I can (at good prices) and worry about it later?

If it was me, I'd keep them.
I'd suggest you be content with that, but pad is a serious illness.

One should never sell tobacco just jar it up and stash it. Tastes change over time and it is nice to have variety.

Haha. Nothing clandestine. You asked for options. I was thinking of a co-op to pool funds and split up the bounty among the members.
