I've been an avid cigar smoker for years and now just began smoking a pipe. I have three in my collection. All I know about pipe smoking right now is light it on fire and smoke it. I hope to learn more from the pipe smokers here.

Welcome from Maryland! You may now continue to light it on fire and smoke it. That's when it's at its best.

Purty sure all have returned from heading inland during the storm. Probably still have "seniority" here unless you can beat 12/29/40. Glad to have yet another "Tarheel" here, quite a few if/when ya go thru the various threads.

Anthony, there must be a reason behind your "stage name"...wanna let us know? I dive the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" with some of my local boys. That section there on the east coast where the cool Labrador current meets the warm Gulf Stream current.

Oh....that kinda diver...used to do that off the coast of Miami, til I got sucked up in a slip stream while in the Keys...after floundering around in the sand, I got out of the fast moving column of water and made it back to the surface and promptly sold my scuba equip....not a great swimmer and I don't have gills!! Surprising no one, there have been 4 deaths reported in the same area since then....other morons like me without enough skills/experience to be diving below 30-40'....and Nitrox scares the hell out of me.

Welcome to the Patch!! Have you taken the Patch test yet? If not contact Legend Lover ..... He has the materials to get you started. First DO NOT PANIC!!! All you need to be is prepared for some very probing questions. We have had members join, who were thought to be agents of pipe and cigars. They made a few Patchers go apoplectic from time to time, which is one reason why we introduced this procedure. Side Note: Funny enough, Patcher's all smoke Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) products, though are mortally indignant about STG owned Pipes and Cigars. To avoid heart failure and stroke occurring throughout the Patch, we do not inform or remind anyone around here that P&C is owned by STG. We also believe it best to name Pipes and Cigars as "the place that should not be named". There are other aspects to the test that cover annoying habits and the like. If you are a good gent, who plays well with others, you will be fine.

Glad you came out OK. I rarely get below 115 feet myself. Nitrox is all I dive nowadays. I was just in the Keys this year. Dived Pickle Reef, Conch Reef, Molasses Reef, Conch wall and a few other places. We had intended to dive the Duane wreck but the weather that day didn't cooperate. We got there but the waves and surge were just too bad. I dived Horseshoe Lagoon on Big Pine Key while we were there hoping for a decent shore entry dive but vis was like 1 foot, so we saw nothing.
