How many of you play with single bowls to see what it does?
Last night I smoked a bowl of Sutliff Creme Brulee and it burned well and had a hint of nice taste, but was so mild it was basically non-existant. While smoking it I kept finding myself thinking about what could I add to this, next time, to give it some ooompff?
How often do you take a pinch of this and a pinch of that to see if you can find a balance?

Oh many of us do it a lot.
I'm surprised that you found creme brulee mild as its a pretty heavy/goopy aromatic. Its like a dessert smoke with no hint of tobacco. Your palate must need something really strong.

I do this quite a bit, mostly for the same reason too. I catch myself adding Peterson's Irish Flake to alot of things that don't have enough oomph. I added some to a bowl of SPC Plum Pudding and it was great. I love the plum pudding but it is pretty mild. Most of the latakia blends are that I have with the exception of a few.

I also smoked a bowl of Presbyterian and it was good but a little too much latakia for what I was looking for at that time.

I think about it... But I'm never brave enough to try it.

I have been doing it for a week straight trying to find the right mix. If it fails, no harm in tossing half a bowl.

I do this quite a bit, but I mainly do so adding perique to virginia or vigrgina/perique blends. I love the results in almost every instance.

A pinch of Stokkebye Cube Cut will put whiskers on most Aromatics.

I do this almost daily ;once I mixed a pinch of VooDoo Queen and a pinch of Tom's private reserve and it worked out so well I added an ounce of the Queen to a 100 gram tub of that wonderful blend from McCraines...the resulting jar has long been empty, but it surely was a delight.
