As I mentioned to a few of the fellas, in the Chat Room, the other day, I've recently upgraded the TV in the mancave. A few weeks ago I received an email from BestBuy. They had a 75" 4K Smart TV on sale in the $700's! I decided to hop on it and replace the 55" in the media room. I then moved that 55" to the living room. The 42" or 44" (can't remember) was then moved up to the mancave. The 36" was then moved to the master bedroom. Of course I justified the splurge to Blondie by splainin that I had really updated the TV in 4 rooms of our humble abode for the price of one ! ;-P

Well played! I recently upgraded, but to a 65" for the "Media Room" (actually what could be a small bedroom) and the 43" Sammy is now in the BR. Didn't think to point out all the advantages of a better TV in the BR, as she's not a fan of one in there at all.
I got an LG OLED, and it is fantastic. Very pleased, and surprised, as when I switched from Sony to Samsung about 10 years ago, I thought that was the end of changing manufacturers.
What TV did you get?

now you just need to replace those wimpy, tiny speakers with some big-arse models with 15" woofers in the side, you need to "feel" the sound.

The Surround Sound system I have, although 10 yo, is a 200 watt Yamaha 5.1 system, obviously with a subwoofer. When I had the place built I had em insulate the ceiling and walls, to mitigate the sound propagation throughout the rest of the house, as well as wire it. So, I have speakers situated in the back corners as well. All in all, it's a great system. Excellent for watching the Action and SciFi movies, as well as music videos.

I'm still curious as to what TV you got, and how you like the picture. Please. I am a vidiot. I picked up a TCL 4K Roku television. The picture is incredible. I use the fiber optic audio output directly into my Yamaha surround system. It sounds great. The first weekend I got it my sons came down. The new John Wick movie just became available to rent, so we spent the first night watching the first two movies. Then Saturday night we watched John Wick 3... The picture was fantastic, the sound was amazing. An absolutely wonderful movie experience.

Thanks. First I've heard of that brand. It's a QLED TV, so wonder if Samsung makes the panels.
I recently got an LG 4K, and the picture is also fabulous. Only problem is after watching a good 4K movie or football game, HD looks very soft!
I have both optical and HDMI connections to my old (8 years!) Denon, and not sure which one is carrying the audio signal. Think it's the HDMI.
