Kind of an "inside out" version.

The pipe is a Paykoc Meer. Was told it could be the Hound of Baskerville. The upper bowl was made from Cherry.

I have often seen on the meer sites secondary bowls like this made from the same Meershaum as the pipe.

I have often seen on the meer sites secondary bowls like this made from the same Meershaum as the pipe. I have seen the same thing, last yeah at the Vegas Pipe Show I priced one for over $100.00 for the secondary bowl. I have been approached by a couple of people asking if this could be done in wood. They specified Briar, I told them let me play with other woods first to prove concept and perfect ideas and technique. The one pictured is my first successful attempt. It smokes nice, even with the secondary bowl attached clenching is easy and comfortable. JR

When Meerschaum Coloring Bowls appear occasionally at SP, they sell out in two hours. There is a market out there, especially for an alternative.

Thought I would update a little.
During the past few days I have smoked several bowls. I have found that each bowl has smoked cool with very little moisture. I have also found that the tobacco burned almost to an ash. Right now Only time will tell how long the upper bowl will last and how the Meershaum will color.

I put my eyes on it yesterday at John’s place, a nice even coloring is starting to bloom.

You should post a picture in a week or two.

With the photo as inspiration, I tried fitting Falcon bowls atop several Meer's, but it didn't work, as ene diameter too big on the Falcon's. With the tools to turn the Falcon bowl end down though, I think it could work on a friction fit.
