Man, this is terrible. They made great pipes and I have a bunch of them. Every one a great smoker.

While I don't have any of their pipes, I've been told by many that they are really good smokers...seems a shame to have another company go out of business. Our little circle is getting smaller and smaller.

Funny, I got an email from a place in the UK with a sale on these pipes. Maybe I should get one while I can.

It surprising with as small as the pipe community is. Yet another sign that modern culture doesn’t offer the Renaissance Man a whole lot of love.

I certainly loved my BC pipes. Sorry to see them go.

In production for 135 years, given the French socialist mold, I am surprised no effort has been made to rescue them.

I have had a few pass before my eyes. They seem well made and as good as any. No idea on what briar they use or how they prepare it. Shame.

and as someone mentioned in that link, there is undoubtedly a big stock of briar and stummels, perhaps to become Chacom's? wit Laudisi flexing their muscle, perhaps an acquisition for their Bruyere St Claude line?

Wow! I don't have one, think I'm going to get one while I still can. Wasn't planning on buying a new pipe yet, but this is as good excuse as any!

Their not upmarket enough for price increases, so I anticipate some future sales.

Their higher level pipes are as good as anyone's, and even the cheapest are great smokers. I have 2 of their Calabash shape and a Cobra that is fantastic. The low cost Cadre Noir is a very good pipe too.

I'm not going to get one, as any company name I cannot pronounce, I am not interested in.

I've had a few BC pipes over the years, but don't currently have one. So I picked up this little charmer on eBay rather cheaply. Interesting shape, smokes great!
