I have been reading up on this, and the Astros weren't the only ones that did this. They just did it better. All of the teams were doing it, the more successful teams were doing it a lot.

I have somehow found myself filling the position of an assistant wrestling coach here in the local high school for the season, only because the head coach is a fellow old cowboy, and needed some help. Sportsmanship can't be told, it's gotta be taught by example. And if grownups (including rotten parents) don't teach it to kids at the student level, the students grow up to be entitled, self-centered mean adults.Knute Rockne said "One man practicing sportsmanship is far better than a hundred teaching it." BOOOM! There it is!^^^^^

You got it, was corralled into a high mucky mucky meeting for Exxon, Head man was concerned they were getting filters from their Engineering staff. Me being the only low life in the meeting, raised my hand and asked, ā Are you saying youāre not getting the truth in the reports. I looked around and you would of believed I š© in their Easter basket. My next retort was you canāt teach honesty, you learn it at home, and if there fibbing at that age itās a lost cause. I then exited, later my Divison Manager told me, you see why I wanted you to go to this meeting. I said yep Iām the only stupid honest Cajun you could find.

Baseball is the ānational sportā of the United States and as such it is supposed to hold an honorable place in our culture. But did that stop what must have been nearly the entire Astros team (every batter must have been in on the scheme) from involving themselves in the āgame planā to steal their opponentsā pitching signs?
Not at all.
