All you ecologicaly minded road hogs can do it silently ! The story is on the front page of the Reuters site. Sorry but this site wouldn't let me copy and paste a link.

One day, someone is going to figure out the extra load on the grid that all of these EVs will cause if widespread adoption happens and they will have a melt-down.
Or not. My wanna-be hippie college professor sister and husband forgive all sorts of sins just to have what ever is popular with the Left at any given time.
I just hope we'll get some new nuclear power plants out of the deal - long shot, but eternally hopeful.

Amazing how the EV market is exploding. Tesla is now introducing long haul trucks that are all electric, Volvo has announced the complete elimination of gas vehicles and will be all electric, and the list goes on. If GM could intrude this in more moderately priced SUVs and pickups, they could have a huge growth surge on their hands. As battery life increases and more charging stations appear on highways, EVs become realistic alternatives. Soon they'll be mainstream.

Therein lies the answer.
It is amazing that France is totally dependent on Nuclear power and they export energy to their neighbors. From what I understand is that all of their power plants are engineered identically, so with such uniformity maintenance and training is pretty seamless along with parts needed to keep the places running efficiently and safely...We could learn something from them.
Some people go through life thinking that free lunches are on the other side of the rainbow in Utopiaville...it ain't happening.

I thought that GM sold the Hummer brand and tooling to the Chinese.

I thought that GM sold the Hummer brand and tooling to the Chinese. I thought the same. I would like to have a Milsurp Hummer, preferably with the Ma Deuce turret option.....never really liked the civilian version.
