I was sorry Ford stopped producing the Crown Victoria. A rear wheel drive, four door, V-8 powered car large enough to recognize a road accident is like a revolution in Africa, you know something has happened but it is too far away to matter very much, all that is what America stands for.
Are we to be a nation of itsy bity teeny weeny cars?
This is a lost battle so I might was well give up.

actually kinda "old" news now for both GM & Ford. (reader of motor trend mag). Doesn't affect me anyhow. Wifie has a little putt putt around town 4dr Saturn Astro. I seldom use it. My truck, '05 Ranger, re-fitted 4.0l engine now up from 207hp from factory to now 285hp,no supercharger. Has 4:11 rear gear ratio, most important 5sp manual. Good for near 0-60 of 6sec flat (not a racer but nice to have that once above the city 30mph), when need to replace, Toyota Tacoma, same general features, non-techno radio, 6sp manual, about same hp engine. Still enjoying the old Ranger. No interest in "new" Ranger out next yr.
Yes, SUV's, pick 'em up trucks what many folks want these days

The reason folks buy trucks is they last unlike most cars. They also for the most part have a better ride and are more practical in the long run. Very few cars made will go over 300 thousand like a Chevy or Ford truck. They simply don't build em like they used to and on the last payment you are left with a pile of plastic with a bad transmission worth more than the itself. YMMV
