Tashkent for sure, but I’m interested in recommendations from the Patch!

I can tell you what I have had:
Oxford Flake - Nothing special and nothing negative. Decent blend but many others out there. 3/5 Boston Slices - A bit better than Oxford. I would probably add an ounce if I ever ordered from them again. 3.5/5 D9507 - I am no Lat expert but this was middle of the road for me. Not enough sweet leaf. 3/5 Omega - Better than I expected. Lots of woodsy flavor. 4/5 Thanksgiving Day - Consistent and decent aro. A few slight differences than the typical rum aro but nothing to blow your socks off. 3/5

Tashkent, Royal, and Cambridge flake too. That one is really great, a very interesting sweetness, "zesty" they call it and that's a good word for it.

I can't believe that no one has recommended Park Square yet. It is one of the best small batch VaPers out there!!!!
I also buy two "bricks" of their Thanksgiving Mix each year to age and smoke. I feel that it is best a few years after being fresh.

I've always liked Peretti's Tashkent, and Cuban Mixture, but this year I decided to try the recently available Thanksgiving Day blend created in 1939. I don't know what I think of it yet, other than I'm not all that impressed. I guess I was expecting a little more flavor from it, but it seems to be a rather bland Burley and Virginia blend. I don't know how to describe the tin note, just nothing exceptional, the taste smoking it was ok, and the room note was quite nice as family members mentioned it to me. I'll try one more bowl before jarring it up for aging. Anyone else have some experience with this blend?

I've heard others on the Patch say it's less than stellar. Reviews for it are ok but not great. I haven't smoke any Peretti blends, not because I don't want to but there are so many blends I just haven't had a chance. However, if its a seasonal blend you are looking for. try Strauss Tobacconist Sleepy Hollow (Fall blend) and Wenceslaus (Winter blend). I smoke them both and they are excellent. You can only get them in season, though, and I think the window has passed for Sleepy Hollow. Wenceslaus comes out just before Thanksgiving.

Let us know what ya think! I'm especially interested in the Loch Lommond; I've been eyeing that one too.
