newb here so be kind. on and off pipe smoker. want to get back into the hobby as cigars are getting way too pricey.
question is for recommendations on low nicotine blends. how do i research blends for nicotine content? or is this even possible? my go to blend is nat sherman 509.

There has been much discussion of PH levels and how they affect absorption rates of nicotine AND where they are absorbed. It's my understanding that Virginia's tend not be absorbed orally, so as a non-inhaler you will be getting less nicotine with Va's as opposed to Burly's (for example).

In 50+ years of smoking I've found most straight Virginia's have less of a nic hit than the Burly based blends. 'Course much of this depends on if you inhale or not. Remember, you do inhale some from the smoke you blow out your mouth while puffing on your pipe. As far as a specific blend to reccomend would be Orlik's Golden Sliced a nice smooth cool smoking all straight Va blend that can be an all day smoke.

Sutliff Red Ribbon and Sutliff Stoved Virginia 507-S are two that come to mind. They're good mixed, as well. Carter Hall is pretty tame, too.
