Smoked way too hot. They could be drilled and plugged, but when smoked that hot, there is going to be more damage besides what's showing. Salvage the stems.

Salvage the stems.Mike's advice is about as good as you're gonna do...those pipes are pretty much shot at this point...Was he using a flame thrower to light them?

About six of the ones he gave me are like this. Don't know what he was doing, but does look like a blow torch through the bottoms. Fortunately the rest are in much better condition.

It's a shame that they can't be fixed, but I would agree with what's been said. Salvage the stems and keep the laptop too.

You might be able to repair them. aristocob.com/Aristocob-Miracle-Mud-P3248829.aspxIve used it on a burn out on the side of a briar pipe bowl with good success. I dug away all the cake from the burn out area and built it up again with the pipe mud. Worked for me.

Try fireplace mortar. No chance if it coming out when cleaning the pipes. That's the stuff if you want to "salvage" a couple of the burn outs. No drilling, no fitting, quick and easy. I'd do it on one or two for giggles- and SCIENCE!
