Hallo, I came here few months ago because I had found an old asbestos pipe, and needed to find some information about it. You had been extremely helpful, and also very kind. So, since you have spoiled me, here I am again with another finding for which I would need your help. A seller had a box with a dozen clay pipes. They were just too beautiful to be let there. I picked up three of them. As I told you in my introducing thread, I am not a pipe smoker, but I love pipes and I sell small antiques. I have done some research about clay pipes, and I am still unsure if these are really old or reproductions. This is probably difficult to tell from pictures... but anyways, if you have any info or just would like to tell me something about them, I would enjoy it very much. (I hope the images upload well) Thank you very much, Silvia hosting immagini

...I would say that they are reproductions...There are several company's that make them currently and every so often there is a rekindled interest in them...Its a very different kind of smoking as they smoke very dry and sometimes very hot...Many of the early clay pipes were very plain..no motif on them at all...they are easily broken as well.

Technically they are no repros if the makers use the old molds which they do. I always think about to try them again but don´t get to buy one in the end... Very nice clays BTW!
