Now smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 1982 black sandblasted paneled slight bend Savinelli flat bottom sitter with a black vulcanite stem. Still working. Jim, I love it when you smoke your "Avatar" tobacco. It means everything is hunky-dory.

Starting off my smoking day with Uhle’s Perfection Plug Burley in my old reliable 1986 smooth Peterson Kildare 999 Rhodesian with a black vulcanite p-lip stem. A cup of Maxwell House, neat, is brewing as I type. Yeah, the smoke got going before the coffee did. Suzy and Molly were waiting for me in the kitchen when I went to make the coffee. They ate more than usual, and are burning off their new found energy by taking a nap.

54F and sunny today. New England has been pretty incredible against the spread this year. ROI better than most mutual funds, would take them -3.5 if I were betting. Not betting or watching, Robert Redford in "The Great Gatsby" on free Movie Channel this evening. The book is one of my favorites. Finishing my first tin of Wessex Burley Slice in an MM Country Gent, drinking ice tea with lemon. This one is still better with a pinch of Butera Royal Vintage Sweet Cavendish than without. I have a tiny food processor that will fix this one, no worries.

Peach of a Monday on the West Coast of the Dark Continent after a lovely weekend which included a meeting of the Cape town Pipe Smokers Guild. Started off this smoking day with some old Rattray's Old Gowrie in a chunk of wild olive, aptly named By Jove! This pipe: pietenpauw.co.za/index.php/formerly-sold/wild-olive/by-jove-detail
