How many of you find to be the tens or the cans with the plastic lids commonly used to sell tobacco are a pain in the arse? I have a can of some Cornell and Diehl Billy Budd blond that's about the size of a Big Tuna can and it seems every time I open it the tobacco is a little bit drier than the last time. I'm pretty sure I already know the answer but how many of you transfer to a small mason jar for storage after opening a 10 or a can of tobacco?

My tins that you described are always very well sealed until I pull the metal top. The plastic top is only to keep it from falling out while you find a jar.

Tin or can, once opened at the most it might stay in it for a week but nine times out of ten, I pop it right into an eight ounce mason jar. Perfect size to hold a tin or can of tobacco and keep a good seal.

When in doubt, jar it up!

If I plan to smoke the entire tin right away, I bag the tin in a 4 ounce baggie. It seems to help preserve freshness.

Yep, but not a thin walled baggie. If that's all there is at the moment, I go double, as well as rolling it up gently.

I keep it in the tin and "burp" it each time I close it ... works even here in the desert. However, I also like my tobacco on the dry side so YMMV.

The foil lid goes on top of the tobacco after opening and yes you have to burp the lid. I have a 8oz tin of Piccadilly that has been open for six months with no issues.

If the tobacco is on the damp side, I'll leave it in the tub till it get where I like it...most go right in a jar tho.
