Thanks, I will have to look up where you can register for it. I recently talked to another guy in a powerchair down by a local lake who told me that I could get a Lifetime fishing license, which I have gotten. I plan on doing some ham radio operating at some National Parks as there is a "Parks On The Air" program.

Just bring whatever paperwork you have saying you are disabled to the check in kiosk at the opening of the national park, my friend
Thats all it takes.
Pass will be issued on spot

Yup. That pass is good for you and three other adults or a car load (depending on the type of park).
If you're 62 or older and not disabled, you can buy a lifetime National Park pass for $80. Still a great deal if you travel much.
I was a park volunteer for years. I've been to most of the major ones, but have two still on my bucket list. Yosemite and Acadia.

Years ago, several in or church wanted to do a day trip to Yosemite Park....Every year we heard the same complaining from park officials about congestion and traffic, and in some of their dreams, some day, would only be public transportation vehicles allowed.
We decided to take the church passenger van, a 15 passenger Ford van and filled it up....rolled up to the gate, and the attendant said something to the effect..."Oh, you brought a commercial bus, therefore you will be charged the commercial rate"...I pointed out that the church was a non profit, and the signage on the van was permanent, and that we were being good stewards of the environment by carpooling....they would not budge, and I had to pony up a couple hundred dollars.

That's great. I passed it on to my son who has a disabled child. Thanks for pointing it out, unknown.

That looks like something Psycholime would post. π We got the Senior pass just before the price went up. $20, I believe. My son is disabled, but he could care less about going to a national park. Maybe when he gets older he will change. He discovered Marty Robbins last week. Anything is possible.

That is one scary assed looking Paw. Mighty big bear attached to it. He is being tagged with a tracking device.

I would have to tag him with lead and brass. And a dose of Imodium.

Would NOT want to meet up with that bear...size of that paw, I wouldn't even be lunch...just a short snack.

I would have to tag him with lead and brass. And a dose of Imodium. Anything smaller than a 37mm anti-tank gun would be a waste of time.

Bears are not the indestructible tanks as they are so often portrayed. However, I would not wish to be in the vicinity of said bear without a sufficient firearm. Encountering this monster in bad circumstances would cause a severe loosening of the bowels, but the ensuing embarrassment would be short lived.

Call the Rangers station to make sure that they have passes available at the kiosk before you head out. UPS

That's a list of the 57 MAJOR NATIONAL PARKS.
The NPS has 419 sites in the system (Battlefields, Historical Parks, National Monuments, etc.). Some charge for admission, and some are free.

A word of advice for pass holders...
DON'T leave it at home. I don't know how many people would come into the Visitor Center without their pass. Sorry, there isn't a database to check for your status!
It's credit card size, dammit! Keep it in your wallet.

I have to be medded up to the extreme to go out there, but its worth it every time.
