Awesome! My grandpa used to love his music, so it definitely rubbed off on me. Honestly, it was the only cassette I EVER noticed in his truck

Loved Ray from the late 1950s onward. Even as a small kid I thought he was great.

Ray Charles, every time I hear him sing America I have to turn my head, I tear up and my heart pounds, damn that Man could sing. +1...He pours his heart and soul into the song like no one ever...,. Amazing how someone that undoubtedly faced severe racial discrimination in an era that he lived, and so profoundly states his love for the country that he was born into, as he overcame and flourished despite the roadblocks. And you get others that have lived a charmed life, went to the best schools, and achieved great financial success, but took a knee against the country that provided it all. Some enter manhood at an early stage in life, some never attain it.

Well said and I totally agree Charlie. Georgia playing now on Direct TV music 60s channel. Coincidence. That was my grandpa's favorite. It's his home state and he loved it here. It's why he moved back and moved the whole family here before he said farewell.

Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music (1962) followed by Genius Loves Company are my favorites.

Remember seeing him at a club over on Rosedale in Ft.Worth back in the mid '60s. He shared the bill with Bobby Blue Bland. Was the only time I saw him live but I still remember him!

I've gotta say, I've not heard much of Ray Charles. However, given the accolades here, I might just look him up in Amazon Music.
But for those who like a hard-copy, that deal is superb.
