Now at $3.06 per gallon in the town of Toad. I had thought we were in an oil and fuel glut but apparently not.

I thought you would have your own tank of off road red dye at the homestead. It has been several years since diesel was cheaper than gas. Also it to cold for you to use biodiesel that stuff turns to soap and clogs filters. So that defeats the cost.

I just checked and it is $2.06 in Humble. It's probably just expensive to ship it to Taos. How much is gasoline?

A bit off topic...
I have used the Gas Buddy app (free) for years, people are really good around here about updating the prices, and it shows you where to get the best deal. I was out in Winnemucca and all the prices next to the highway were ridiculous... looked at the gas buddy app and a ahort drive to a neighborhood brought me to where the locals bought fuel.

I remember when Diesel fuel was .19 cents a gallon and was cheaper then gasoline, what in demand prices do to our economy. Fricken price gouging greedy big business! And I don't even want to hear about shortages......its B.S.!

Also it to cold for you to use biodiesel that stuff turns to soap and clogs filters. So that defeats the cost. Storage of diesel above ground here has its problems during the colder months. There is not much savings to offset that owing to bulk delivery prices not being much better. If our little gas station in the village should close, then I would have a tank here.

If it helps, a gallon of diesel costs over $6.50 over here in the UK. 😱

My only vehicle for the road is a truck weighing over four tons with a 7.3 liter engine and mileage around 17 miles (not KM) per gallon. Town is a 90 mile round trip. I need a smaller and lighter vehicle.

At tops its only worth about half of what Gasoline is and Gasoline is only worth about .25 cents a gallon. Did you know when oil was first discovered and they refined it to get Kerosene, Gasoline was a waste product they burnt it off?

Actually taxes are the bane of the Oil industry, look up what taxes are on a gallon of diesel or gasoline and you will revise your thinking.

Brad is right the Big Oil gets a bad rap. The Federal and state taxes are what people should scream about. Gas and diesel makes about 3% for big oil the real money is in Polyolefin better known as plastic.

Most of the Big Oil company employees are good people who bust their butts in dangerous and dirty jobs so the haters can get to their protests and heat their homes.

I respect your opinion sir but, big business and government have been the down fall of America for a very long time and I'm as sure as I stand here both wash each others hands. And I'm a firm believer in, "Believe nothing of what your hear and only half of what you read". And sometimes I don't even believe that much. There sure as hell aint going to tell us any of their dirty little secrets.

A lot of people used to say that the business of the US is business, but after reviewing history I believe that the business of the US is war. Which, considering that humanity hasn't evolved in the past 24 thousand years that we have had "Civilization". People are still tribal animals that will stick a knife in their neighbors back any time they get the urge.

Lets all hold hands and sing kum ba yah and pretend all we have to do is share a Coke and smile. I know all to well I fought for inexpensive oil and the American dream. I will not slander big corporations as they offer us a very high standard of living. All I need to prove how lucky I am is pick up the latest National Geographic and see how others survive. I would almost bet more oil workers have died from cancer than soldiers have dying to keep the supply line going.

The dumped the taxes on diesel because everything we buy is supplied to us by diesel burning vehicles. Semis?? Groceries et all. And those taxes are passed down to you the consumers. Truckers have to pass their expenses down to stay in business. Or.. go out of.

A quote I saw recently, " Capitalism will fail when there are only poor people left who cannot afford the goods"
For those who support Corporations, I suggest you read the book by John Perkins, " Confessions of an Economic Hitman" in which he tells of his career of going to other countries and convincing them to take out billions of dollars in loans in exchange for building up their infrastructure, but knowing that in the fine print that when they cannot afford to pay back the loans, we take their natural resources. And when they don't agree to go along with us, we send in the "Jackals"(part of the CIA) which strong-arm them, or assassinate them. There is no end to the greed of the Corporatocracy. We do not live in a Democracy anymore as we have no say in politics, as none of us got to see or vote on the Patriot Act, which singlehandedly stripped us of more of our freedoms than any other piece of legislation in history. We live in a Corporatocracy in which Corporations buy politicians to vote on legislation that helps them at the cost to the citizens. The blind, mindless Sheeple only care about their tv's filled with endless violence and cheap sensationalism, and sporting events designed to keep them from becoming capable, informed citizens.
Let's see if this gets deleted.

I have to answer this, Marty very cynical for a man who probably is getting Government assistance, yes America is not pure, but tell that to the people who die trying to come here. Love it or leave it, I have no blinders on, I fought in S Asia and was wounded and don't qualify for VA BENIFITS. We were not there so up mine. I'm lucky that I had a very good job and can afford my own. I hope I've not hurt your feelings but we're still the best, I Garronte.

Show me a non corrupt government and I will show you the real title to the Brooklyn Bridge. There are some of his here smart enough to understand that wars are started for financial gain or for not joining a certain banking cartel called the World Central Bank. Show me a country who did not belong in the last thirty years and I will show you a war after they refused to join. I like the line from A Few Good Men "You Can't Handle The Truth". There are four countries left without a Central Bank, Cuba, Syria, Venezuela and Iran. So you see neither Marty or Brad is really wrong. Now excuse me I have to keep up with Kardashians and why no one will hire Kaepernick and why all of the ambassadors appear to be clueless. But I digress.

Nothing is being deleted, but, even though the conversation is still civil, it is now in the realms of politics. So, before things escalate I'm gonna put this one to bed.
